The Lab
Anyone who enrolls in Biol 318 lecture is required to sign up for the lab because 1/3 of the lecture grade comes from the grade for lab being averaged in. The material covered is relevant to what is taught in lecture, but it is not just the same information over again. For example, you will learn blood typing while covering the cardiovascular system. A large part of the lab is being able to identify parts of the body although there is some physiology included. You will work a lot with dissected cats.
Websites for the Lab

This website will help a lot when you are taking the lab for Biol 318 and are required to identify structures on a dissected cat. You will be expected to locate several tiny, individual parts of the body on a test and since you will not have a dissected cat at home to study with, this website can help you by showing labeled pictures of cats similar to the ones used in class.

Blood typing is an important topic in lab but it can be difficult to wrap your head around how it works. This page provides a fun little game that requires you to practice blood typing in order to save a patient's life. If you still don't get it after playing this game, or you want to learn more, the website has links to detailed explanations on what blood typing is and how to do it.
